Sichuan Earthquake

On August, 30 2008 one of the most devastating earthquakes happened in Sichuan Province, China. The earthquake killed over 68,000 people, maimed over 370,000, and left over 18,000 missing. In spite of all this, almost five million people were left homeless. Still, today, there are millions of homeless. Many did not have the resources to be able to rebuild their lives. The Chinese Government came up with a stimulus plant to rebuild the area (146 billion), but terrible effects, from the quake, still exist.

Here is a good site devoted to the cause of helping the people and you can make also make a donation. http://sichuanearthquake.org.uk/ To see images of the quake, please visit http://images.google.com/images?q=sichuan+earthquake&oe=utf-8&rls=org.debian:en-US:unofficial&client=iceweasel-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=PS95StbUMYTOsgP3l8WRDQ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4 To see video of the quake, please visit http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=sichuan+earthquake&oe=utf-8&rls=org.debian:en-US:unofficial&client=iceweasel-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=XS95SuCPOIzUsQOT8LnlBA&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&ct=title&resnum=8#
